In your next newsletter announce your new Plastic Free Oceans public page.  Include the link and invite people to follow it.

Perhaps include the points in your page under the heading “For the environment we:”

Maybe download the HERO sign and get an image of staff, students or friends holding it up outside your building.

In future newsletters leave the page link as a regular item.  This is a long journey and to achieve Plastic Free Oceans we need to keep up the momentum.

Capture future business

Any business with direct customers can do this to build stronger longterm relationships.  The big winners are hotels and others that pay large commissions to booking platforms, but rather customers to book direct.

  • As you farewell a customer hand them a customised business sized card – like the one above. Download the art work from your dashboard – add your info and it is ready to go.
  • If appropriate also send the customer an email thanking them for their custom and inviting them to follow your page.

Then personalise the message below and send it either by an email or using their contact form.   The message below has been personalised to the Rotary Club of Corrimal, but if your club has published a page insert those details in the message.

Subject:  I’m a Rotarian inviting your club to follow my club on this new initiative.

Hi there,

Our club is delighted to be one of the early sign ups on Plastic Free Oceans.  Here is our page: www.plasticfreeoceans.net/rotaryclubofcorrimal

I am contacting you to encourage your club to sign up. It is an easy way for all our clubs to be involved in this important issue. And we hope sharing with the community it will attract new members.

Here is the information www.plasticfreeoceans.org/youin/inforotary/  In a club meeting please play the video at the bottom of that page – that will give  members a clear understanding. Then get a person in your club, perhaps the one responsible for your website and/or Facebook page, to start your club’s page.  Oh! And please click Follow to our page.

May I ask you to reply and tell me how your club felt about the idea.  I’d love to see clubs all around the world popping up on Plastic Free Oceans.

If anyone in your club would like to volunteer a few hours to help us get this message – like I am doing now – please ask them to send their contact details to me.

Regards
